Q. I am a restaurant owner. I was doing fantastic in my business. But since the last one year it has not been doing too well I had made a few changes to the wall colors and furnishings. Earlier it had shades of desk brown and brown and now I use purple and white. Can it make a difference as per Vast?
Ans. Purple and white are not advisable for your profession It can be used in boutiques, ice-cream parlors etc. As you are in restaurant business I would suggest you to go for bright colors- something from the family of reds, perhaps. For a further detailed remedy we would have to look at your layout plan.
Q. I am a builder who used to construct building in with other parties and then sell them as whole or in individual floors. I have invested a large amount in a deal and unfortunately this it has yet to yield benefits for us. The building we have invested in faces the southwest and has a neem tree in front of the building. As far as I know. Both these are Vaastu defects. Could you please suggest how we can sell the property?
Ans. No doubt the neem in front of the house is a hurdle. But an entrance in the southwest for a residential building is a major problem. I would advise you to make a nine-inch line at the entrance door with yellow enamel paint. A convex mirror on any wall can also help.
Q. We have a paternal property. A house built on 400 square yards. It is north facing two side open plot. Due to some reasons this property has to be divided between me and my younger brother. As I told you that it is two sides open. It has both front and backdoor entry. We both brother wants to live on the same plot. Now we have to divide it in two parts either from width or from length. What would you suggest?
Ans. You have asked an intelligent question. Rather dividing property from width, I would advise you to divide it from length. By doing this you both will have a two – side open house. As north is a good direction for residence, both of you can make the main entrance in the north and make a back door in the south.
Q. We have recently bought a 3BHK flat. It faces the north and all the three balconies are in the west, south and southwest directions respectively. Will extension in west, south and southwest and appropriate as per Vaastu. If not, is there a remedy to minimize this defect?
Ans. The extension in south west can be the worst. To minimize the defect, make a 4 inch yellow line with enamel paint in the balcony facing in south west. You can use Yellow tap as well. This will help you to some extent. Some Fengshui tips also help you reducing the defect of the house.
Q. I have a duplex with an open terrace facing the southeast. I want to make a roof garden there. Is it advisable to do so?
Ans. Yes, You can make a terrace garden in the southeast direction. But make sure you do not place a basil plant in the south or southeast. Instead you can place it in the east portion of the house. Avoid thorny plants like cactus and bonsai. Also avoid plants that need more compost to grow.
